What is Citi 2/65?
Citi 2/65 is Citibank's velocity rule: you can only be approved for a maximum of 2 personal credit cards within any 65-day period. This is a hard rule—if you've been approved for 2 Citi personal cards in the past 65 days, your third application will be automatically denied.
Citi also has a 1/8 rule: you can only get approved for 1 Citi personal card every 8 days. This means even if you're under 2/65, you still need to wait 8 days between applications.
These rules apply to popular Citi cards like the Citi Premier, Citi Custom Cash, and Citi Double Cash. Business cards have different rules, but most churners focus on personal cards for their flexibility and bonuses.
