What is Chase 5/24?
Chase's 5/24 rule is one of the most important restrictions for credit card churners. If you've opened 5 or more personal credit cards (from any issuer) in the past 24 months, Chase will automatically deny your application—even if you have excellent credit.
This rule applies to most Chase credit cards, including popular cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, and Chase Freedom cards. Business cards don't count toward 5/24, but you still need to be under 5/24 to get approved for most Chase business cards.
