Amex 2/90 Tracker
Track your Amex 2/90 status automatically. Know exactly when you can apply for your next American Express credit card.
What is Amex 2/90?
Amex 2/90 is American Express's velocity rule: you can only be approved for a maximum of 2 credit cards (not charge cards) within any 90-day period. This is a hard rule—if you've been approved for 2 Amex credit cards in the past 90 days, your third application will be automatically denied.
This rule applies to all Amex credit cards, including popular cards like the Amex Gold, Amex Platinum (if it's a credit version), and Amex Blue Cash cards. Charge cards like the Platinum and Gold charge cards don't count toward 2/90, but most churners focus on credit cards for their flexibility.
Amex also has other limits to be aware of: a maximum of 5 credit cards and 10 charge cards total. Our tracker monitors all of these rules automatically.
